THE ROAD TO TAI CHI

In 1996, I studied and eventually led classes at the celebrated Boston Kung Fu Tai Chi Institute, a special place that has produced countless Martial Arts champions.  During my  years there I earned an expert teacher certification.

During my tenure there I ernestly put in 40+ hours a week learning and practicing with many teammates both internal and external martial art styles.  I had the privilege of being trained by several teachers but most notably Sifus and founding partners of BKFTCI, Joshua Grant and Yao Li. My passion for Tai Chi and Kung Fu was ignited by Chinese Martial Arts (Wushu) and continues to serve as a well of great depths of  inspiration for me to this day.

MY JOURNEY:
Ángel Quesada, a seasoned Tai Chi instructor, brings close to three decades of expertise as a movement specialist. Incorporating the Feldenkrais Method® principles, he offers a holistic teaching style, enriching students' understanding of body mechanics and somatic awareness.

Ángel's mission is to empower individuals to reduce injury risk, accelerate recovery, and achieve optimal well-being through an engaging and enriching Tai Chi practice.

In 1999  I moved to Los Angeles and I continued my Tai Chi practice and taught weekly classes at various parks and yoga studios. I met many fine Martial Artists with whom I was privileged to train alongside.

Some notable teachers: Li Jing, (ex-teammate of Jet Li  / Beijing Wushu Team member),Li Juan Zhang (ex-Guandong Wushu Team member), Buck Sam Kong...

In 2001 I competed in tournaments on both US Coasts, with a 6th place ranking for Internal Martial Artist during the USAWKF National Tournament in San Diego, CA.

2002 - 2004
I expanded my somatic knowledge base by studying the Feldenkrais Method® in Oceanside, CA. at the Reese Institute for Feldenkrais Method®.

In 2005, I competed in an NKFTC National Level tournament
, with a 1st place ranking for Internal Martial Artist (Tai Chi & rope dart) in Austin, TX

I have been blessed to share my Tai Chi knowledge with thousands across the nation and, for the last two decades in Texas, use what I've learned to build a more informed public and teach people how to reduce pain naturally.
